Health care needs happen around the clock. You can schedule an appointment 24/7 and speak with a doctor year-round, including all major holidays. Appointments can be booked Monday to Friday, 6 am to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 6 am to 6 pm.
Because coordinating care with your primary care physician is important for your overall health, you can choose to have your video and phone visit summary sent to your personal doctor at the end of your appointment, within 48 hours of your approval.

What is PlushCare?
PlushCare is a partner of Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG) that has physicians who diagnose, treat and prescribe medications via on-demand video or phone consultations.
Who can use PlushCare?
Anyone can use PlushCare for the $99 retail rate. PlushCare also accepts insurance, however; SCMG's agreement with PlushCare is not an insurance benefit. On-demand video or phone visits are offered to SCMG HMO members for the discounted rate of $20 versus the retail rate of $99.
Why would I use PlushCare?
PlushCare provides you with another way to get the care you need, when and where you need it. You now have on-demand access to health care at work, on vacation or your home.
When can I speak with a PlushCare doctor?
You can have a visit with a PlushCare doctor, Monday through Friday, 6 am to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 6 am to 6 pm. On-demand video and phone visits can be scheduled in advance 24/7.
Will my visit be with my SCMG Primary care doctor?
On-demand video and phone visits are with a PlushCare doctor who has been trained at a top medical institution in the U.S. with an average of 15 years' experience. The appointment is not with your SCMG primary care doctor.
What conditions does PlushCare treat?
PlushCare can diagnose, recommend treatment, and prescribe medication for non-emergency medical issues including: cold and flu symptoms, bronchitis, allergies, poison ivy, pink eye, urinary tract infection, respiratory infection, sinus problems, ear infections and more.
Will my doctor know about the visit I have with a PlushCare doctor?
A summary of your visit can be sent to your SCMG doctor. Please note that sending a summary to your doctor is not required. You can choose to decline this option at the conclusion of the visit.
Can PlushCare doctors write me a prescription?
Yes. The PlushCare doctor will send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy indicated in your PlushCare profile. Your insurance copay will apply to any prescriptions you receive as long as the medication is covered by your plan.
Are there medications that PlushCare will not prescribe?
Yes. PlushCare will not prescribe certain classes of medications including controlled substances such as narcotics (Vicodin, oxycodone, Percocet, morphine), sleep aids and sedatives (Ativan, Klonapin, Xanax, Ambien, Lunestra), stimulant medications (Ritalin, Adderall, Provigil), or medicinal marijuana. This list is non-inclusive.
What happens if the PlushCare doctor can't help me?
Your credit card is not charged until 30 minutes after the appointment is complete. If the PlushCare doctor cannot solve your health issue, the doctor lets the PlushCare clinical team know, and they will not charge your credit card.
How does a video visit work? Do you have to download an app?
You can download the PlushCare app for iPhone and Android, or use a computer with a camera to complete the video session. The PlushCare app provides you with a convenient way to speak to a doctor without the use of a computer.
Who do I contact if I'm having technical issues accessing PlushCare?
Contact PlushCare using the "Chat" feature on the PlushCare website or call PlushCare at 1-888-291-5841.
If I believe I'm eligible for the $30 visit, but PlushCare cannot validate me as a current SCMG HMO patient, what should I do?
Contact the SCMG Customer Service Department at 858-499-2550 from 7:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
What if the SCMG Customer Service representative cannot immediately validate my eligibility?
You will be charged the $99 retail rate. PlushCare will reach out to SCMG Customer Service to verify your eligibility. If your eligibility can be verified, PlushCare will reimburse your credit card the $69 difference in approximately 5 to 10 business days depending upon your bank.
