Take Your Child to Work Day — a Big Success!
Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG) held its 18th annual "Take Your Child to Work Day", on Apr. 26, 2018. Organized by Julie Sproul, Supervisor, Ambulatory Case Management and Janell Davis, Administrative Assistant, this year's theme was "SERVICE FORCE: Agents of Positive Change".
"The day was focused on teaching our children how to bring about positive change in the workplace but also in their daily lives," said Julie. "We talked about how to eliminate waste, especially in the work place with our very own Six Sigma Waste walk. This event is so important for our SCMG family to help incorporate what we, as parents, do each day and bringing our children in to see and be part of it. "
She added, "We had a large crowd of 34 children this year, the biggest yet. We look forward to the coming years and the possibility of outreaching to more children outside of SCMG and including them in this very successful event."
Here's what some of the kids had to say:
"I learned a lot and had so much fun doing finger prints from the crime scene. I want to do this again next year." — Danielle, age 7
"I felt it was important to experience the investigation. It showed that I could apply myself to a real situation and it made me think about making important decisions. The waste walk was a great learning activity that taught me about reusing and saving money for a company." — Kevin, age 15
"I liked the Six Sigma Waste Walk because I learned a lot and it was fun. My favorite part of the day was working with my mom at her desk. I would love to come back next year." — Alyssa, age 9
