IHA Recognizes Sharp Community Medical Group for Excellence in Healthcare
The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) announced the winners of its annual Excellence in Healthcare Award, California's top honor for provider organizations. The award recognizes provider organizations that earn strong results in clinical quality and patient experience measures while effectively managing costs. To achieve this recognition, provider organizations must perform in the top 50 percent in clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care.
Sharp Community Medical Group was one of only 20 provider organizations across the state (out of more than 190 participating) that met IHA's Excellence in Healthcare Award performance standards in 2020.
Additionally, of those 20 winners, only 8 were honored with the Ronald P. Bangasser, MD, Memorial Award for Quality Improvement for demonstrating the highest year-to-year relative quality improvement from each of eight California regions, making Sharp Community Medical Group the only organization in San Diego to receive this prestigious recognition.
